Public Beta is Here

A recent update by Aventurine has confirmed that the public beta stage for Darkfall Online has begun. They are currently inviting small numbers of people frequently to satisfy their testing needs. If you didn't get in beta on the 10th, don't fret you could get an invite at any time. For the full text of the update, check out the original post by Darkfall developer Tasos here.

It's been awhile since we've heard anything new from Aventurine about Darkfall, and just when I was beginning to lose hope, we've got some new juicy info from a local PR event held in Athens. Here's a post by Shaar @ the official forums that gives us hope of a very early 2009 release.

The event was great, about 120 people watched the presentation although at first Tasos feared there would not be many people because of the day an(d) hour it took place. The game was there, running live, over the internet and not some offline version. Performance is great although I don't know what kind of machine they were running it on and it was running for a good hour I think without crashing, glitching or showing any other problems. Right at the end of the presentation the game seemed to crash to the desktop and everyone w(ent) uh-oh. But the message that pop(p)ed up was that the connection to the server had been lost… Greek internet connections ftw.
The big news that I was told I can share with the community is that OPEN beta will be FINISHED by the start of December and release will follow soon after. So… stay on your toes.

Darkfall Gameplay Trailer and Beta Registration

It's a glorious day today for any fan who has been eagerly awaiting the release of Aventurine's revolutionary MMORPG DarkFall. The first treat instore for fans is a 17 minute long gameplay trailer which shows how expansive, innovative, and amazing the Darkfall world really is. It shows everything from armed combat and mounted combat to siege warfare, sea battles, and all the various ways you can destroy your opponent.
If that's not enough for you they also opened clan beta, and personal beta applications to the general public for the upcoming external testing phase.If you are a Negh member please register your beta account with the clan name "Negh". Welcome all to the all-new Clan Negh Darkfall Fansite. Check out all the nifty darkfall links on the left side, and hopefully by the time you're done we'll have some new content for you to check out. All the signs point to darkfall being the most amazing MMORPG created to date, so we're devoting most clan resources and preparation to our transition to darkfall. If you would like to apply to join clan NEGH visit our forums and post an application. We'll be playing the evil pirates who sail raiding ships and hide out in the middle of god knows where until the merchants are fat for the plucking. If this doesnt sound like your gamestyle, then dont bother applying, because we're dead set on it. Races have not yet been determined, so you can still have a say in what we choose. Peace.
